clean floor/quote of the day

Yippee! I finally vacuumed our apartment! That sounds gross so let me explain... We just haven't had a vacuum and haven't had the time/energy/money to look for a good quality and inexpensive one so I have been doing the best I could with a mini size vacuum (a dust buster basically- only it looks like a kid-sized upright) and a broom. Well, we finally got a vacuum because Steven's brother had two at one of his stores and let Steven buy it for 20 bucks. Pretty sweet! Also, I want to point out the irony (or something) in this situation in that I am a custodian and vacuum parts of the Maeser Building nearly everyday at my job, and yet it took me 7 months to really vacuum the place where we live, to vacuum our mess and not only others' messes. It feels so nice to not only have carpet that looks clean because I swept it, but that is clean and doesn't have anymore Christmas tree dirt in it. :)

I like this quote. I have heard it before, but came across it again on this post about matching (which I also like by the way).

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?” Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we’re liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
–Marianne Williamson

I hope that everyone has a wonderful, edifying, and Spirit-filled Sunday tomorrow.
